Dean Truitt II, Founder and Managing Director


Dean is the founder of Blue Horizon Management Group and serves as a senior advisor, operating partner and independent board director for private equity middle market companies.  He helps accelerate growth, optimize business performance and grow enterprise value in the software, technology, manufacturing, consumer, distribution and marketing services sectors.

Dean has served in numerous board director, CEO, COO and President roles.  As the CEO of Savigent Software he grew the company by 200% in 3 years and completed a successful sale transaction to a strategic buyer.  At WorkflowOne he was brought in by the board as President and CEO to turnaround a $600M business with 2,800 employees, that resulted in 40% EBITDA growth and $50M in working capital savings.  He has also been the COO of several manufacturing/distribution businesses with responsibility for $200M to $500M P&L and 2,000+ employees.

He has an engineering and technology background with 25 years of Big 4 strategic consulting experience at EY, Accenture and AlixPartners.  At EY, he led the National US Consumer Products Practice to 28% CAGR revenue growth and served as a senior client partner responsible for several of the firm’s largest Fortune 500 manufacturing and consumer clients.

He as been involved in over 6 strategic transactions.  His experience spans the M&A lifecycle including portfolio strategy, due diligence, post-merger integration and divestitures.

Dean received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Oklahoma State University and holds an Advanced Professional Director Certification from the American College of Corporate Directors.  He has regularly attended the annual PEI Operating Partners Forum in New York.


Gina Truitt, Co-Founder & CFO

Gina assists mid-market portfolio companies with financial matters and serves as an interim and fractional CFO.   She has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance, retail merchandise finance, commodity trading and retail banking. She serves as a fractional CFO for several small businesses and startups.  She was the CFO of C3 (Cell Culture Company), a high growth BioTech private equity-owned investment and was formerly the CFO of EverFresh Products.  Prior she was in the Lead Management Group at Target Corporation with financial oversight for a $2.8B business unit. She has led a number of sourcing, financial and merchandising programs in her career.  Gina started her career in the banking industry.

Gina serves as a board director of several non-profit organizations including Wooddale and recently as a Board Directors for Step Up Women’s Network for 3 years, that mentors girls from under-resourced communities, helping them to fulfill their potential by empowering them to become confident, college-bound, career-focused, and ready to join the next generation of professional women.

Gina received her MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson Business School and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Oklahoma State University’s Spears School of Management.  She is a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor through DePaul University.


Cindy Faust, Affiliate Partner

Cindy is known for driving strategy, vision development, and revenue creation programs in partnership with clients to position them for customer growth and success.  She has spent the past 20+ years as a technology and marketing leader, most recently as the global President & Chief Commercial Officer for Aimia Loyalty Solutions (now Kognitiv Corporation).

Cindy specializes in customer engagement strategy, SaaS technology, and behavior analytics to deliver amazing brand experiences.  She has enjoyed creating business transformation strategies with some of the best worldwide brands in retail, CPG, hospitality, financial services, and telecom to achieve customer-centric growth.  Working with boards and across all levels, she is recognized for relationship-building, strength in nurturing ideas, and driving results.  She has had responsibility for a $200M P&L and hundreds of global employees.

She is sought after for ideation, analysis and strategy, especially to formulate GTM approaches, new product development, M&A, and strategic partnerships to generate new sales growth.  Throughout her career, Cindy has led four M&A transactions to recognize synergies and growth opportunities, including the successful turnaround, acquisition and integration of the Aimia Loyalty Solutions business in 2020.

Prior to joining Aimia, Cindy held technology leadership positions with Carlson Companies and GE Capital.  She has earned various collegiate degrees, including an MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.  Cindy is actively involved as an advisor and volunteer with several University programs, including Carlson Women Global Connect and the Technology Commercialization Venture Center.  In addition, she works with the National Alliance for Grieving Children, TeamWomen, and Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities.
